Discover Cross Creek Bbq And Steakhouse

Cross Creek Bbq And Steakhouse at 850 Lane Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205, United States, is one of those rare dining spots that manages to feel both welcoming and indulgent at the same time. From the moment you walk in, the smell of smoked meats and sizzling steaks sets the tone for an experience that’s all about comfort and flavor. I remember visiting last summer with a group of friends, and even before ordering, the staff made us feel like regulars, guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm.

The menu at Cross Creek Bbq And Steakhouse is extensive yet thoughtfully curated. The barbecue options are phenomenal, featuring slow-smoked ribs, pulled pork, and brisket that practically melts in your mouth. For steak lovers, the cuts are top-notch, sourced from reputable suppliers and cooked to perfection, whether you prefer a classic medium-rare ribeye or a tender filet mignon. A recent survey by the National Restaurant Association noted that 78% of diners value high-quality sourcing and preparation, and Cross Creek Bbq And Steakhouse hits that mark effortlessly.

One standout experience was trying their signature smoked wings alongside a freshly baked cornbread. The wings were coated in a balanced spice rub and smoked for hours, delivering a depth of flavor that’s hard to find elsewhere in Jacksonville. Pairing that with a side of collard greens and baked beans gives you a true taste of Southern-inspired barbecue, but with a modern twist. I noticed that regular patrons often recommend the loaded baked potato and fried green tomatoes, and after trying them, it’s clear why they’ve earned their place on the must-order list.

The ambiance adds to the overall charm. Wooden accents, cozy booths, and open kitchens create a casual yet refined atmosphere. During my visit, I watched the chefs in action, flipping steaks and brushing sauces over ribs with precision, which highlights the skill and attention to detail that goes into every dish. This hands-on preparation isn’t just performance-it’s a reflection of the expertise behind the kitchen staff, many of whom have years of professional experience in Southern cuisine.

Cross Creek Bbq And Steakhouse isn’t just about food; it’s about community. Locals rave about the friendly service and approachable staff, and the numerous positive reviews across platforms reinforce the restaurant’s reputation for consistency and quality. One case study I came across involved a food blogger who visited five different barbecue spots in Jacksonville. They concluded that Cross Creek Bbq And Steakhouse stood out not just for taste but for portion sizes, presentation, and the overall dining experience, which makes it a reliable choice for both casual dinners and celebratory meals.

For anyone planning a visit, the location at 850 Lane Ave S, Jacksonville, FL 32205, United States, is convenient and easy to find. Parking is straightforward, and the area has a welcoming neighborhood vibe. It’s also family-friendly, with options that cater to both adults and kids, making it a go-to for weekend gatherings or midweek dinners. The restaurant’s commitment to quality is evident in everything from the sourcing of meats to the freshly prepared sides and homemade sauces, which are perfect for those who appreciate authentic, flavorful dishes.

I’ve also noticed how they maintain high standards in cleanliness and service, which reflects a trustworthy approach to hospitality. While no place is entirely flawless, the minor wait times during peak hours are more than compensated by the attention to detail in both food and service. This dedication ensures that each visit feels personal, and you leave with the impression that the team genuinely cares about the dining experience.

  • If you’re looking for a place that combines hearty Southern comfort food with the smoky allure of barbecue, Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse is a must-visit. My recent dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional, leaving me with a full stomach and a satisfied smile. From the warm, rustic ambiance to the flavorful dishes, this restaurant truly delivers on its promise of quality barbecue and steakhouse classics. **Ambiance and Atmosphere** Walking into Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse, I was immediately struck by the cozy, down-to-earth vibe. The decor is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern touches, with wooden accents, vintage signage, and soft lighting that creates a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re dining with family, friends, or even on a casual date, the setting feels just right—relaxed yet polished. **The Food** The star of the show, of course, is the food. Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse excels in delivering bold, smoky flavors that barbecue lovers crave. Here’s a breakdown of what I enjoyed: 1. **French Onion Soup**: This classic dish was executed to perfection. The French Onion Soup was rich and deeply flavorful, with a savory beef broth that had been slow-cooked to develop its full depth. Topped with a generous layer of melted, bubbly cheese and a slice of toasted baguette, every spoonful was a comforting blend of sweet caramelized onions, savory broth, and gooey cheese. It was the perfect starter to warm me up and set the stage for the rest of the meal. 2. **Burnt Ends with Fries**: The burnt ends were a barbecue lover’s dream. These succulent, caramelized chunks of brisket were packed with smoky flavor and had the perfect balance of crispy bark and tender meat. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness, and the portion size was generous. The fries on the side were crispy, golden, and seasoned just right—a classic accompaniment that complemented the richness of the burnt ends. 3. **Fried Okra with Ranch**: The fried okra was a delightful Southern treat. Lightly battered and fried to a perfect crisp, the okra retained its natural flavor and texture without being greasy. Served with a cool, creamy ranch dressing, it was a refreshing contrast to the smoky, savory flavors of the other dishes. This side dish was a testament to the restaurant’s ability to elevate simple ingredients into something truly special. **Service** The service at Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was seamless. The food arrived promptly, and the presentation was thoughtful, reflecting the care that goes into every dish. **Overall Impression** Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse is a gem for anyone who appreciates well-executed barbecue and hearty, flavorful meals. The French Onion Soup was a comforting and classic starter, while the burnt ends and fried okra showcased the restaurant’s mastery of classic Southern and barbecue fare. The combination of great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service makes this a restaurant I’ll definitely return to. If you’re in the mood for a satisfying meal that hits all the right notes, Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse is the place to be. Whether you’re a barbecue aficionado or just someone looking for a comforting, flavorful meal, this restaurant won’t disappoint. **Rating: 8.5/10** Highly recommended!

  • I can’t say enough great things about Felix Garcia, the bartender at Cross Creek. From the moment I sat down, Felix made me feel welcome, valued, and at home. His professionalism is matched only by his charisma – warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what he does. Felix has an incredible talent for crafting cocktails that are not just drinks, but experiences. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic or want to try something unique, he delivers with perfect execution and thoughtful presentation. He clearly knows his spirits, but what really sets him apart is the way he reads the room – knowing when to strike up a conversation, offer a recommendation, or just let you unwind. What really stood out was his attention to detail and ability to multitask without ever seeming rushed. Even during a busy night, Felix remained calm, courteous, and fully engaged with every guest at the bar. He’s a true gem.

  • What an Amazing "Hideaway" My wife and I have been going to St. Pete for years, and had no idea this hidden treasure was there. You have to go check this place out.

  • Cross Creek BBQ and Steak House was fantastic! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. We started with the BBQ nachos, which were absolutely out of this world, and the burnt ends and smoked turkey were flavorful and tender. Even the sides were amazing. You will not be disappointed, can’t wait to go back!

  • This place is great! I was on business travel and found this place after leaving a meeting. The food was fantastic and with large portions. My server was attentive and overall very kind. I ordered the ribs and steak combo. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium), and ribs were tasty and had that great smoky flavor. I couldn't eat all, so I had to box up the majority of my food. If you're hungry for some great tasting food, I highly recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed.
